Nikko in Tochigi is very famous and is a world heritage site. And there are many things to do around there. I really liked ‘Dragon Head Falls’ (竜頭の滝(りょうずのたき)) which has a nice tea house for refreshments.
Also, Ashikaga Flower Park in Tochigi is also really nice. I want to go there again.
I'm fascinated by "Kasamashiko", Kasama and Mashiko pottery towns. The atmospheres are quite different but there is a shared tradition of pottery styles. I've got a few pieces at home.
Bump! Are you planning to get away over the new year break in North Kanto-Koshin? What places do you recommend for a winter getaway?
