I love tofu scramble! Crumble and break the tofu up into the pan and after a few minutes when the water is gone, then add nutritional yeast, a little salt, garlic powder, turmeric, and stir. Then add a little nut milk and let cook for a minute or two and your finished! You can buy nutritional yeast at any Bio’ n Bon or from Alisha farms.
Another one I remembered is with atsuage. Stir fry some bell peppers and onion cut in "squares" then add the atsuage cut into cubes. At the end add oyster sauce for a Chinese food like taste. I also add a little bit of cooking sake sometimes.
My husband just did a dish yesterday. Very easy: aburaage grilled on a frying pan with a dash of soy sauce 😂 it's not an elaborate meal but it's edible and quite good. Lazy meals ftw
I'm a big fan of hiyakko with grated ginger or shiokosho and a dash of soy sauce. A hot pot I've made is vegetable broth with tofu, negi, and miso. It's pretty good.
Do you have recipes for okara? How about yuba?
I'll start.
- Mabo-tofu with soy protein ("soy meat) instead of the grounded pork meat. Or course with tofu. I guess you could skip the soy protein or use another meat alternative.
- Hiyayakko 冷奴 ひややっこ for Summer. This dish is basically tofu with your favorite type or topping but it's more as a side dish.
