I think it just depends on the grocery store and location. Like for example, near my station, at Sanwa, I can’t find any foreign foods, but it is a smaller supermarket, but down the street there is Food One (Owned and operated by Sanwa) but they have a lot more foreign foods and it is just a little bigger. It all depends on many factors.
One of the most basic places you can find just about find anywhere in Japan that have common foreign foods is 'Kaldi' . They tend to carry common European, American, and some Asian foods. Most if not a lot is catered to western foods. But they also have some Japanese foods as well.
They don't have an English page, and most people go to shop there instead on buy online. There are even other companies that sell similar things and at times may not have things that Kaldi doesn't carry.
