Not really illuminations but I'd like to share this.
It's Nana-chan in Nagoya station in front of Meitetsu department store (men's building). They dress her up for advertising purposes but it enables ppl to enjoy her various outfits. For Xmas season it was this: a costume replica of Xmas cakes sold at the department store. I liked this a lot, it was so pretty.
Nagoya's Nana-chan looks awesome for the holidays! I see she's been a Christmas tree and a rather large elf before. But this has got to be her best holiday outfit.
Near me there are Christmas lights at Yomiuri Land, it was quite beautiful,
but I like the winter illuminations in German town in Sodegaura, Chiba more. There is a whole field covered in lights. There are also many fun activities to do there during the day. If you are looking for a fun day and evening, I recommend going there.

Kasukabe City's station front lights display.
Near me there's the illuminations at Nabananosato, Nagashima resort (Mie préfecture, Tokai area).

I've never been there myself but it's a famous Instagram spot 😂

...Maybe we need some tips. Walkerplus has a nation wide illuminations guide. https://illumi.walkerplus.com/
